DCM ANNUAL CHILDREN & YOUTH CONFERENCES
Early this year, Divine Care Ministries started with a Children and Youth Conferences at her centers, that is, Divine Grace–Kyotera, Divine Church (Buwava), Divine Hope, Joggo and Karamoja. The intention of the conferences was to encourage all DCM children, with love and inspiration, through the Gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit. God guided the director, Mummy Phoebe, and the conference theme was “Rolling Away the Stone that Separates the Living from the Dead.” (John 11). Our children and their guardians were excited about the conferences and showed up in big numbers, 150 children recommitted their lives to Christ and 59 received Christ in their lives for the first time.
Through Bible study sessions, the youth and children were taught that the word of God is capable of delivering them from the worst situation. “Jesus raised Lazarus who had spent four days in the tomb, there is nothing that He can’t do,” Uncle Silver emphasized. This encouraged many children as most of them have spent close to a year out of school. Children expressed their concerns and fears of not being in school for such a long time and what challenges they are facing as they move from one stage of maturity to another. DCM child workers encouraged, counseled and motivated those who had lost all hope.
We thank God for these conferences, they have made a huge impact and difference in the children’s lives.

MORE THAN JUST A blanket…a great christmas gift!
Mercy’s smile depicts the unbridled joy she felt when she received a blanket and bedsheets from Divine Care Ministries. There was excitement as several other children under DCM received blankets and a pair of bedsheets as their Christmas gifts as well.
To Mercy, it was more than just a blanket, it was an answer to prayer. In Uganda, the start of a new year brings along different seasons, one being the rainy season. With only a lesu (light cloth) to cover herself through the night, Mercy worried how she would make it through this rainy season that was approaching. She narrates that she had learnt that God knows about our worries. This compelled her to bow down and pray to God!
Less than a month later, Mercy got a surprise visit from DCM social workers carrying a blanket and a pair of bedsheets. “I prayed, but I didn't know that God would answer me this fast,” Mercy said, after receiving her gifts from DCM.
Just like Mercy, many other children under DCM were excited about their gifts. Many of these children have sponsors while others are still waiting, but all of them received a shiny gift from their most generous friends. DCM appreciates every sponsor who sacrifices each penny to put a smile on the children’s faces. We are deeply grateful. Thank you for being the vessel through which these children’s prayers have been answered!
success story
In our success story, we narrate Allan's story, his story inspires us and gives us energy to keep extending the hand of God to more children.
Allan was in primary three when he joined Divine Care Ministries’ sponsorship program. Before he joined, Allan’s hope for completing primary seven was disorienting. His grandmother was aging and couldn't afford to work on an every day basis to raise food at home, school fees and requirements. But when Allan got a sponsor (David Hargis), everything changed. He was granted a chance to education. His hopes became alive again and his worries vanished. He went through primary, secondary and now after doing University exams, Allan will be graduating as a professional teacher of Geography.
Allan cannot wait to graduate and join the workforce, he says the discipleship he attained while going through DCM was remarkable and has helped him while at university. He learnt to trust in God and depend on Him for anything he wanted. “Up until now,” Allan notes, “God hasn't disappointed me.”
Allan greatly appreciates DCM for being there for him. Even after his studies, Allan is working with DCM, giving back to society. He looks forward to helping so many communities get transformed.
Once hopeless, Allan is now filled with hope and has great plans for the bright future that lies ahead of him! We bless the Lord for a wonderful success story!
Children Return To School After a Long Break since covid-19
After a long time of being away from school because of the COVID-19 outbreak, children have resumed schooling. The school administration is happy to have the pupils back at school and the children are also excited to be back! There is a lot of change and growth in the children, but growth is expected in children and we thank God who kept them safe from this disease and other challenges that they were at risk of facing while out of school. DCM continues to pray that all classes will be able to come back, so that all children will resume schooling very soon. Praise the Lord!
Eye Care Outreach…Restoring Sight to the Blind!
Divine Care Ministries had the privilege to reach out to the communities of Buwava and beyond through Vision Spring, an eye care specialist non governmental organization. The outreach was very successful with 230 people showing up for their free eye exam. After being professionally diagnosed and given free reading glasses, there was joy written all over the faces of each person who attended!
As people regained their physical sight, our mission team made sure that the beneficiaries went back to their homes having regained both their physical sight and spiritual sight. Led by Aunt Diana, the evangelistic team was able to lead 50 people to the throne of salvation. What a joy it was to see so many people being transformed inside and out! We thank the Lord for such an opportunity given to DCM and her leaders to extend transformation and the love of Christ to these communities.
Divine Care Ministries appreciates Vision Spring and Model Christian Ministries for their partnership and their heart of serving communities! We could not have done this by ourselves! God bless you!

Staff Capacity Rebuilding
In early February, the Divine Care Ministry staff was excited to have an Information & Communication Technology workshop at the Head Office. This is was done in an effort to improve the competence of the DCM staff in technology to ease day-to-day office work. The nature of DCM work calls for the efficient use of computer technology. The workshop entailed learning how computers can be well managed. The facilitator also taught the staff members the best ways they can utilize technology to increase high performance in their respective departments.
Divine Care Ministries is going through some transition, which comes with tremendous changes that require staff members to embrace technology as it makes work smoother and easier. The staff members were excited to learn more about how they can use computers to serve. “Its amazing to know that there are several things I can do with a computer,” said Jane, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer when asked about what she has enjoyed about the workshop. “I am happy that I now know how I can best protect my computer from viruses and malfunctioning” said Sophie, a social worker. This was a workshop that was really helpful to the entire DCM family.
Several other workshops have been attended like the Horticulture Workshop in Masaka, which was attended by DCM staff members, Yusuf, Lydia Watsemba and Barnabas. It was a five day workshop intended to teach people how to do commercial farming and plant a lot of things on a small piece of land.
Credit goes to the Directors, Pastor Peter and Mummy Phoebe Sozi, who took an initiative to hold a variety of workshops that exposed our staff members to learn many skills. These skills have been implemented by staff members in both their day-to-day office work and personal work, we have seen great performance.
The newness in the new Divine Care Ministries is very much evident. Praise the Lord!
New Divine Care Ministries
Towards the end of last year, the Holy Spirit revealed to Mummy Phoebe that there will be change in the way Divine Care Ministries handles things. It was by the conviction of the Holy spirit that we believed there was a new Divine Care Ministries that was coming. So the entire DCM prayed, believed and received the new Divine Care Ministries in faith.
Now three months later, this new Divine Care Ministries has indeed taken shape and a lot is happening. From the start of this year, the Lord has been sending us to touch more children and their families in the communities. With the word of God, love and hope has been restored to communities and they are not facing the new year with confidence and faith that God has the best in store for them.
On the ground, new projects are taking shape. At different DCM centers, there has been construction projects and they are steadily transforming the beauty of the centers, some of them are complete and others are nearing completion. It is indeed a new DCM and the newness is evident and glorious.
Great thanks goes to our partners who selflessly provide and support DCM in every activity so that we are able to make a huge difference in the community and Uganda at large. Your sacrifice and efforts don’t go unnoticed!
A Brand New Car For Divine Grace!
Joy filled Divine Care Ministries when we received a brand new car. For a long time, Divine Grace, one of DCM’s centers in Kyotera, has needed a car to ease transportation while doing official work.
As always, God showed Himself faithful and released His providence unto the organization through our kindest of friends. Now, Divine Grace has a brand new car that helps the school to work more efficiently in their everyday duties. The car was received with praise and thanksgiving to God for His miraculous giving! After receiving it, staff members thanked and prayed for our friends in the U.S.A., for their generosity and open hearts towards Divine Care Ministries.
Divine Women’s Conference — Celebrating & Skilling Women
As an organization that is at the forefront of advocating for the development of women, DCM held a one day women’s conference to renew the women’s potential and empower them with more skills to develop their spiritual, physical, domestic and financial life.
The conference’s theme was “Woman of Noble Character” from Proverbs 31, led by the Director, Mummy Phoebe. DCM discipled over 70 women on how to pray and live a God-fearing life. The women were also equipped with money-making skills like envelope making, making flowers out paper. They also learned home skills like making simple dishes with added value for their families and also lessons on beautifying themselves and their homes.
The women were encouraged to add value to the little they have because they don’t need a lot to make a difference in their lives. Mummy Phoebe encouraged them to start income-generating projects since they have the capability to run any kind of business.
This was a great day of learning for the women of the community. They realized the potential God has endowed them with and thus they can be able to support themselves in whatever thing they want to do.
