The Story of Faith

“For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and to not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”. - Jeremiah 29:11

Behind that beautiful smile is a powerful story of resilience and love. This is Ainomugisha Faith. Her journey began in a time of hardship, as her mother struggled with homelessness and struggled to make ends meet. She was in such a desperate situation that her sister decided to take her in to care for her. During this time, Faith's mother became pregnant with Faith. She also gave birth to another child after Faith.

Tragically, Faith's mother contracted HIV/AIDS and it took a devastating toll on her mental health. In a moment of despair, Faith's mother attempted to harm her two children by trying to drown them.

The social workers with Divine Care Ministries heard of this situation and immediately intervened. Aunt Peace (a member of the ministry) took Faith into her home, offering her love, care and safety. Faith began to flourish, radiating joy and a developing a sweet and friendly spirit.

Sadly, last year Aunt Peace was diagnosed with cancer. She began treatment immediately and the costs of medical care has drained her resources, making it difficult to continue providing for Faith the way she once did. That's when Divine Care Ministries stepped in with sponsorship to help Faith continue to receive the same care Aunt Peace was giving her.

Thanks to the generous sponsors, Faith's future remains bright as she continues to thrive physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and academically. We are incredibly grateful for the sponsors who are helping to change Faith's future.

We are believing for Aunt Peace's full healing and restoration from cancer, please keep her in your prayers during this difficult time.
