More Than Just a Blanket...A Great Christmas Gift!

Nansubuga Mercy, overjoyed after receiving her miracle gift!

Mercy’s smile depicts the unbridled joy she felt when she received a blanket and bedsheets from Divine Care Ministries. There was excitement as several other children under DCM received blankets and a pair of bedsheets as their Christmas gifts as well.

To Mercy, it was more than just a blanket, it was an answer to prayer. In Uganda, the start of a new year brings along different seasons, one being the rainy season. With only a lesu (light cloth) to cover herself through the night, Mercy worried how she would make it through this rainy season that was approaching. She narrates that she had learnt that God knows about our worries. This compelled her to bow down and pray to God!

Less than a month later, Mercy got a surprise visit from DCM social workers carrying a blanket and a pair of bedsheets. “I prayed, but I didn't know that God would answer me this fast,” Mercy said, after receiving her gifts from DCM.

Just like Mercy, many other children under DCM were excited about their gifts. Many of these children have sponsors while others are still waiting, but all of them received a shiny gift from their most generous friends. DCM appreciates every sponsor who sacrifices each penny to put a smile on the children’s faces. We are deeply grateful. Thank you for being the vessel through which these children’s prayers have been answered!
